I like to hunt all day when bucks go into the "search phase" leading up to and right after peak breeding. Sometimes it's a long boring sit but then...here he comes...at some time that seems hours from when I have seen a deer.
That time period is the first and last part of November.
i started yesterday. every chance i get i will be in the woods. THE "ALL DAY SITS" will not be "ALL DAY DEER" just like dbltree said. you sit twelve hours for 1 minute
I will get serious about all day sits in about a week.... I only do all day sits in my primetime stand sites.... and it is a little early to sit those in my opinion....
Will go out tommorrow mid morning to hang a couple of Alphas in two new funnel spots and plan on hunting the fringe of a core area later tommorrow afternoon until dusk.... looking forward to seeing how the timber is changing /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif
I'll be in the stand all day during the rut for sure. But on opening pheasant weekend or if there is corn coming out of nearby fields I'll be in the stand as long as I can. A lot of deer getting moved around when those 2 things happen.
Sitting all day for the first time Tuesday. Nice transition area between two big thickets, which are the prime doe bedding areas. Bucks go back and forth searching. Can't wait!
I usually start sitting all day right around Halloween and for the 2 to 3 weeks following...Like everybody else say's you will sit for 11 to 12 hours but when the shot happens it is all worth the wait....P.S. pack a small lunch....
I will sit all day any day that I am sick and on weekends when I can starting NOW.
Although the primary search phase is still not anticipated to begin for about 10 days there will still be movement at mid day. Right place at the right time and the right buck...
