For late season plant them on time in May, you will have nice full bean pods for late season. For early season plant them around 4th of July. You won't get the bean production but in late September early October you will have nice green leaves that the deer love when all the other fields in the area will be yellow or brown already and not pulling in many deer.
If you didn't pay attention to what neighbor crop planting timing looked like- the earlier the better!!! I'll be planting mine in May and laughing at my buddy's 10" tall beans that he got in way too late- happens every year.
If you want green beans in October, plant a 4.0-4.3 maturity bean early (May) Your beans will be green in October, and will produce plenty of pods for late season food source.
