opening day of duck season goes by...nary a post. goose opened today, and still haven't heard a peep.
i got a couple of buddies trying to make me into a waterfowler...gotta say, its working. had an ok morning on ducks last week, and had an awesome hunt this morning. pretty hard not to get your limit when the geese are coming off the pond, right over the top of your head

You'll really impress me if you shoot them geese in flight with your bowtech.....

To busy...... first time I've ever had a day off on the opener and missed it.

Looks like tomorrow might be the same.

We had one of our best openers ever. Shot a lot of teal on Sat. and Sun. Won't be in the blind again until youth season. Going to put Ghost Jr. back on some ducks. He's got a little score to settle with a few of those feathered friends from last year's youth season!

Teeroy, just be careful if the geese are real low, don't look straight up at them. You never know what will drop out of the sky when you shoot! Had a friend get hit with a load right between the eyes!

We did ok for early goose in Northern Iowa a couple weekends ago but it wasn't ideal. My roomates and I made a pretty sweet blind and shot a ton of teal on opening weekend and 6 or 7 mallards. I will try and post some pics sometime.

We filled out a 4 man limit on geese both days this weekend. I was cooking goose last night for supper so I can shoot a few more! Still waitng for a cool down.

Myself and the boys have been doing pretty good for the season. Shooting a lot of teal, woodducks, a few mallards and a couple pintail through out the weekend. Putting down a couple local geese here and there also.

The group I usually go with shot 71 ducks sat. and sun. I didn't go either. I always miss the good stuff. Last year they limited out with 60 birds in 2 hours.

Last Sunday morning found me waiting for the sun to rise with the bow in my hand. Just at sun up, I see deer running along side one of our corn fields. I thought to myself that their behavior seemed rather odd. A little later WWIII erupted across the road. I took a drive and someone had a dekes spread out on the neighbors pasture. Wasn't long and the someone in the field to the west started blasting. They had dekes set up on a hill top where they had chopped corn. Wasn't the best situation for hunting deer.
