Where is the next world record typical going to come from? and is it going to be anytime soon? Let's make 3 picks and give reasons why, they don't have to be in any orer just one of three places it may happen.
1. Iowa........QDM and some serious quality food
2. Kansas.........great nutrition and soild. Some QDM and more good food
3. Saskatchewan........I have to be biased.

Even though we now have 5 typicals that net over the 200" mark I don't think it'll be from here. Nutrition isn't great and many deer never come in contact with people.
Make some picks

1) Illinois...lots of managed land...hunt Illinois!

2) Ohio...sleeper state with great genetics...hunt Ohio!

3) Saskatchewan...shot by Kaare...our very own Saskguy!

I almost went with Ohio. Like double lung said, you never know. I just know I'd like to hunt in all of these spots named so far just to see the difference in habitat and hunting situations.

I think either Iowa or Ohio....I know that there are some deer in Monroe County that have potential of pushing that 200" mark, Iowa has great nutrition and QDM as well.....Ohio is definitly a sleeper state...I mean the Beatty buck says it all.

It's got to be Iowa and it's going to be in the next 5 years. There are so many people getting into QDM and so many monster deer it's going to happen.

I think

#1 pick...Ohio
#2 pick...Illinois (not Pike Co tho)
#3 pick...Kansas They have been producing some awesome monsters in the last couple of years.

IA is a possibility for a record deer anytime but I think these other states are more geared toward the trophies due to the terrain they carry. All have just as good of nutrition as IA, cover is likely better, and the QDM is growing making the perfect mix. One state I did not mention, Missouri has the potential and with the increase in QDM, it is likely the top contender for the title. Just look at the current world record in the non-typical category??????

I'll be Wisconsin. I think everyone should start hunting there. After all the pub, Iowa's big bucks are pretty much history

I must admit that I'm surprised that ghost is the only guy to go with place in Canada. Even though his quote about me getting it was joke I think Canada has some potentail too. Alberta is a possibility too, lots of big bucks are killed there evry year. Even though I said it won't likely be from Sask. I think Sask is a good bet for a booner. I read in a report from last year that there were around 70 B&C whitetails shot here last year between residents and non residents. That is out of about 30 000 deer making it a pretty good avg. I think. Is it b/c our deer get absolutely no press down there??

First off...I wasn't joking about you killing the next world record!!!

Secondly, you don't want to have the BIG BUCK "press"!

Notice I didn't mention IOWA in the running...

I have a tree stand on the Allamakee/Winneshiek county line between Waukon and Decorah. It's going to be at the fence crossing 25 yds. from my stand.

IL I think. They finally tightened up their regulations a few years ago and the bigger bucks are starting to appear. And I don't just mean in the Western part of the state. I have a friend who shot a monster last year on the IL, IN border. 24" inside, 13" g2's, 12.5" g3's, lot's of mass, grossed just over 180, if the buck had been a 10 point instead of a 9 it would have begun to flirt with the mid 190's. Simply an amazing buck! He'd NEVER seen it before he took the shot. I'm very happy for him, he's been preaching to all of his local buddies to hold off on the young bucks for years now and I think he now has their attention.

#1 Ohio - Parts of the state are QDM crazy
#2 Kansas - Genetics and nutrition
#3 Texas - It will probably be a pen raised deer released into the wild

#1 Alberta-was there last week deer hunting and after seeing this place first hand I believe that place has all the potential in the world. Age + genetics = WR typ.

#2 Iowa because we now have a rifle season and shotgun season in Nov. This will prove to be the answer to the doe problem and therefore produce a WR.

#3 IL Lots of management going on there and with all those hunters someone is going to get lucky.
