Some good choices so far. Guys, QDM will only take you so far. You also need restraint. What I mean is this, you need to pass that buck up when he "only" scores 185. You good enough to do it? I know I'm not man enough.
Many states have large areas where QDM is being practiced. OH, KS, IA, ND, NEB, TX, IL, MO, MN, MT, KY, CO. New record could come from any of these places. What about WY, WA, ID?
However, Kaare wants three picks. In no particular order.
Saskatchewan. To many big deer, to many old deer, its bound to happen sooner or later.
Ontario. What? You bet. Northwest Ont. has all the minerals deer need. Low hunting pressure. A growing herd. It all adds up. I love hunting this Province and have found some giant sheds here as well. Ont. came close a couple years ago with the poached deer.
Minnesota. Two years in a row we have scored two typical sheds from different deer that say the new record IS HERE RIGHT NOW. Both of these deer should gross over 220 ty.
Ask yourself this, where are all the really big typical sheds coming from right now? I mean big, like 97 and over. There are only a couple dozen sheds of this size in existance, however, a handfull have come from the SAME AREA. You figure out where this is and you may just get the new record listed in YOUR name.
Kaare, believe me, Sask gets it share of the press down here. When ONLY BIG deer are spoken of, your Province is always a forerunner.
PS. I'm still trying to find out an answer to one of your questions before I get back to you.
