Who is early muzz hunting this coming weekend??

My wife and I are.

Anyone going to use a decoy this early in season? I think I am going to buy one this weekend but I probably wont use it till later in the month.

I'll be filling a doe tag or two during early ML season. It's always one of my favorite times to fill the freezer.

I will be out, got 4 stands up in an area where I know there are several big bucks staying. Plus there are alot of other good shooter bucks also, but i thinkthis first weekend will be mainly going after one of the big boys and then we will see what happens from there.

I'm playing the early season too. The weather plays less of a role for me than whether or not the crops are coming out. Warmer weather doesn't necessarily bother me - it's a good time to get a child out that is too young to hunt the youth season. My 7 yr old has been dinging to go for weeks now.

I see the farm I hunt is getting corn chopped as we speak. That should push some more deer into the woods!

I am going as well. Does anyone know if I can still purchase a doe tag for EM (already have any sex tag). Was thinking of drilling one for the dehydrator.

Should be able to if your county still has them or if you have landowner depredation tags available.

Yup Ryan, as long as you have purchased your any-sex tag for early muzz you can get doe tags for any counties that still have them available. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

It's going to be a little warm, but I guess I can always go fishing during the midday, and smokepole early morning and late afternoon.

I'm switching to the early season this year. My dad can't take the cold anymore. This early season is pretty good for him. I have a doe tag to fill and then I'm going to hold out for a big one. Hopefully I have my dad in a good spot to get a shot at one. I would rather he get one then me, I already have a few on the wall and he hasn't shot a buck yet.

Had a good one cross the road in front of me this morning. I'm looking forward to this season.
 
I was outside this evening just sitting watching my hay field when a buck chased a doe around the field for a few laps. Some of those older does will be coming into heat here shortly so next week may give us an opportunity.
