Who is shed hunting?!

Neighbor told me he thinks a buck shed out on our farm, haven't found anything the two times I've looked. I had to slow down for a 2.5 yr old 10 standing on the highway last night on the way to the farm, both sides still intact.

Varies across the neighborhoods, but I'm seeing nearly 2/3 shed out already it seems! Still too early to go look for me. Hate to bump them out while times are tough

Going to double the number of cams (from 7 to 14) on 18 acres this weekend to see what survived/is still holding.

My deer were really spread out over this last winter because of the good weather conditions. Never really grouped back up until last couple weeks. I probably ought to walk some deep dark timber and look

Found one after a landlord burned a brush pile and it flared up and burned some headlands and waterways up. Standing there watching the fire department put it out and there was a tall shed from a 2 year old laying there. In a place where we mow for hay so coulda cost me a tire repair pretty easy and definitely not in a place I would have looked for sheds.20250303_205222.jpg

Corn ground and shed hunting sucks,!

Can't even fathom how many I've missed doing so.

Overall, went into this late season being about the most optimistic for years.
Am totally disappointed in what I've found. Dismally pathetic.

Like a dream of Cindy Crawford only to see Rosie O'Donnell.

Lol, I can relate

Im at 35 on the year. Its not been easy, usually just coming up with 1 or 2 each time out. A couple weekend days I've hiked over 10 miles and came up empty. Few reasons...1. fewer deer than usual. 2. More people than ever shed hunting 3. Mild winter has the deer spread out.
