This isn't deer related but I just wondering who is all heading out this weekend to put the hurt on some of these honkers. Are you all planning on hunting fields or water.

Limb, Congrats on the harvest from last weekend. Are you going to take bad hair day out or set up in a field? I love seeing them honkers go from air to the ground. Either from them landing or from the steel putting the hurt on them. The weekend just isn't getting here fast enough.

I wouldn't say that...we had a group of 15 come in to around two feet...

Dropped our remaining eight geese out of the flock and 5 of them were banded. I would imagine they are all young birds. They are doing more and more banding in our area now and it is becoming more common. Some guys down the road from us shot 19 the first morning and 9 of them were banded. It is just a matter of whether they are in the area...now neck bands, that is another story...

Haven't seen any in this area for close to six years now...

It would take a whole lot of doves to make one of those geese. If you decide you want to try it sometime let me know and we will get a field ready for opening weekend one year. And you and a couple guys can make the trip. We took 230 something doves saterday with 17 people.

We use to have some awsome duck hunting but the last few years it has been crappy. we still have several fields that we flood but it is slow hunting. Wish it was like it use to be I would invite you down for some duck hunting. Good luck this fall with the whitetails.

I have been hearing that the new hot spots will be missouri and southern iowa since the winters haven't been getting really cold in these states the last how many years, them waterfowl don't need to go as far south. Which is just fine with this guy. Before you know it, people will be saying Stutgart where!! I can't wait to be looking at 4 dozen avery full bodies, 2 dozen outlaws and 1 dozen shells. By the time they turn around it is to late. The cattle are going to have a show to watch on saturday morning.

Count me in!

I will be headed out to meet up with a few college buddies to do some goose stompin'. Man what a blast it is!

I am pretty sure we are going to be set up on some corn fields that have been chopped......which is really close to the river.
