This past weekend I set out on a two hour drive with ten foot of telephone poles sticking out of my rear end (pun intended
)to a farm we luckily managed to acquire this past November. The 30 foot poles were going to be used as a crossing point over the creek to connect both side of the property. What I thought would probably take two days to accomplish, only ended up taking a couple of hours thanks to some cable, an old Massey, and some ingeneous red-neck inginuity.
Although the bridge isn't covered yet, I thought I would show a couple picts of the work in progress. Thanks a bunch to two hard working friends from the S.E. corner of the state. There's no way I could have gotten them in by myself!!
This was the start of the trip. After realizing I was a few thousand pounds overweight, I headed south and hoped like hell no-one would stop me on the way down.
Auggie (The Crane) Wafflehouse was caught in this picture man-handleing the poles. Without his strong back and steady hands, things wouldn't have gotten accomplished.
As you can see in this picture, I stayed on the "tractor" side of the creek and tried to offer my assistance when I could, however I was needed at the helm of the Massey so needless to say I stayed fairly clean and unexhausted.
This last photo is of Ghost(The Engineer) Halstead giving the bridge a final crossing and inspecting it for ATV durability. Without his blueprints and Engineering degree, this bridge might have ended up vertical instead of horizontal.
Thanks again guys for the help, once it's finished I'll post a couple more picts.
Below is the finished picture.....thanks to an old deck my buddy ripped up at a friends house. Hopefully this thing lasts a long time!!!
