Wind and Weather Pattern?

Seems like back 2000 to maybe 2005 or 6,,Nov Weather was stormy. Lots of wind changes,,from SE to NW,,back to south,,then a storm and SE wind. Lots of changes. Worked good for me to use my various stands. Recent yrs however,,seems Weather Pattern gets stuck and you get the same wind direction for days on end. Take last Nov for example. Remember that cold snap! Lasted a good two wks. I remember. North winds day after day,,after, etc. Could really only use one of my stands for most of two wks of RUT. I know you should have stands for every wind but with my land,,the way trails are traveled, that is difficult. Last two wks winds have been East-N-East. Like this week,,Tues now until next Tues NE wind. I am not sure what pattern will be come this Nov,,but current pattern is the old Trough EAST-Ridge WEST,,pattern we had most of last Winter. Makes for mostly a N-or NE, wind. I have been thinking I probably should go out and somehow make places to sit for this wind,,this year. Kinda late to be doing new spots,,but if this wind direction keeps up,,I could not hunt any of my stands! Something to consider.

If you have stands for a N, NW, and SW wind that pretty much covers the month of November in recent years. I have a section that requires an East wind and not once last November was I able to hunt it. Just not many East winds.

Seems like just about always SW or NW in November where I am at. More SW than anything. NE is rare, SE is more common but usually don't hold wrong. Pretty much be ready for anything haha.

I do have stands ready for west-NW-N-SW,,even one for SE, but E-and NE,,NO. Just saying the current pattern favors east and NE winds. This could be the dominant weather pattern for the fall. Time will tell. Looks like the major storm track,,which moves winds around a lot will favor the EAST coast and Ohio Valley,,not the Midwest,,

Where's the smoke comment, or possibly ozonics?

Anyway, I'd probably still try to set something up for the winds you can't hunt. Better than not going because of a certain wind. Brush blinds can work wonders if in the right spot, and deer should get used to them pretty quick.

Yea,,I went out today made two alternative ground blinds,,digging holes for my boots so I can sit right on the ground. They are across from my other stands, Not the best vantage points but will do in a pinch if these east/Northeast winds kick in again for days on end like they are now. Should have done this sooner, but hopefully a month,,which is when I will start to hunt,,,will be long enough for deer to get used to what I did in their environment. In MI,,where I came from, you could never do such things this close to hunting season,,but I know Iowa is a little different. Deer less spooky.

lol not many guys are using smoke like myself....I hunt wth the wind in the deers favor. Deer will circle down wind when you call anyways

They won't circle down wind if you don't call.
true, but I've rattled in every buck I've killed in the last 5 years if I want to shoot North of my stand I make sure the wind is out of the South so they come in where I can shoot.....if I'm not calling and setting on north edge of his bed I go in on a North wind because the will walk into the wind for safety
