Conjures up memories of a dog with a double hook through its snout.
I feel bad for the owner and the dogs, but this is gonna happen when a “reintroduction” repopulates quicker than anticipated. Its only gonna get worse. I don’t proclaim to know all of the issues with the reintroduced wolves, but I wonder when they will set a season?
Don’t blame the wolves. They were only being wolves.

Thats too bad. I read a story like that one and a guy shot a wolf that was attacking his dog and he got fined and was waiting to hear if he was going to face jail time for killing a wolf, because the state of Minnesota said he was in the wrong for saving his dog by killing an endangered animal.

My brother lives and hunts a pack of bear and lion hounds in Northern Idaho. He hasn't had problems so far but it may only be a matter of time.
They had the wolf situation on the news the other day. They are going to take them off the endangered list but Wyoming is holding things up. The governor there feels that ranchers shouldn't need a wolf license to kill a wolf taking livestock or pets and he so far won't sign onto the agreement with the Feds. Montana and Idaho have agreed to the Feds demands for a season, license etc.
I guess time will tell how it all plays out. Seasons and hunting will change any predators habits and make them less prone to attacks on man or his pets.
I do know people who run beagles in Upper Michigan who have had some close calls with wolves while running snowshoe rabbits. They use bells...and hope for the best
