What the old Mississippi River will give up. Caught this Paddlefish, or shovelnose catfish, on Jan. 30th there are several different names to them. We estimated it at around 30 lbs. Revived it and released if to fight again. They are quite the fighters when they are hooked by the tail

I bet he did put up a heck of a fight. Those things are strange looking. I know they taste great though.

Thanks for putting it back in the water, there aren't nearly enough paddlefishes around. My hat is off to you.

That thing is 5 1/2 feet long, but Slim is so dang tall he makes the fish looks like a guppy.......

man I never have seen one of them before? It kinda looks like one of our swordfish...saltwater version.I take it there are not many in the mississippi?
