Unfortuately from flying the past 7 days, I'd say harvest is in full swing all over Iowa. More corn out than beans. I only saw one bean field that still had any green in it. I even saw a few fields that were turned under and even some tileing being done.
I think it is a very early harvest this year. I could also tell the elevators were getting their, for lack of better term, "ground storage" areas ready.
Not to sound too much like a sissy boy, but the colors this fall, and I'm not talkin trees yet, are just beautiful. This year the hay/alfalfa fields, field water ways and pastures are still green with the contrasting earth tones of the crops and the black earth of a freshly turned field, Mother Nature paints with a palette exclusivley her own.
