I'm curious about the "play the wind until peak rut" part of your statement. Are you actually ignoring the wind during this period or just taking more gambles with scent control in general?

Taking more gambles on the wind you could call it, yes...still do all the scent control but dont worry quite so much about the wind.

Anyone have any experience with EverCalm?

Yes and I thought it spooked the deer.....of course could have been anything, but in my head at the time it was it that caused it.

I had the same experience with Nose Jammer. I know some guys on here swear by it. I swear at it.

What kind of rubber boots are you guys using these days? I assume most guys still use strictly rubber boots? So many nice hunting boots out there but they have leather or fabric or some component other than rubber. Is there a good, comfortable rubber boot that has a very strong bottom that can withstand say walking over a locust thorn?

Always used Lacrosse Alpha Burly. Comfortable, waterproof, etc. Never tried walking on locust thorns though..
