Teddy would support ethanol use and biodiesel in a heartbeat. Of course, Teddy was in favor of the old african phrase "walk softly and carry a big stick" which is in direct contrast to the current administration.

With all due respect pharmer, I'm sure Sadam (and hundreds of other terrorist thugs) think the stick is plenty big...and then some. Certainly a more aggressive approach than waiting for the UN to do something meaningful.

NW- Our stick is plenty big but we bust in like a drunken cowboy and have been reckless with American lives. We don't walk soft, we trample and then wonder why foreign affairs are a problem.

My opinion is that we need to look for other solutions( what that is i don't know). But our position has always been take and take until little is left and then put a little back. I think that this country has very few true wilderness areas left and we should do everything we can to protect them. With that said i can also see the other viewpoint as well.
Something a little off topic but does have to do with land usage is Aldo Leopold's " A Sand County Almanac" I encourage everyone to read it, very interesting.
