Youth Hunting Harvest REPORT- Statewide

The youth are off to a good start- lots of does taken: 897 vs 317 bucks so far. There's always some WEIRD parts to the data- so far THIS YEAR 2 Shed antler bucks have been taken- kinda funny and weird on that one. (data doesn't account for the season last year- say January- from what I understand). I remember when I was younger and shooting my 1st buck and doe- both were SUPER COOL memories. *you can obviously see this data real-time through-out the season. Good luck hunting and I hope my county gets some more does blasted!

The data is cool. Last year I made my own excel file and recorded the number of does bucks etc shot each day right before I went to bed. My goal was to find the best date in Iowa for the year as far bucks being shot. I went all the way up until my weeklong vacation where I didn't have internet and couldn't do it. Naturally it was the best time of the year.

I am going to try it again this year. It would be interesting to compare future years to me.

Is this just the youth season, or does it include urban hunts and such too? Also interesting that Clayton and Woodbury both have a shed buck kill, possible typo you think?

I think it includes all. I looked about 3 weeks ago and it had one shed buck reported.
