youth hunting question

just to be sure....I am ok to take my 8yr old daughter youth hunting? right? because she is excited and I don't want to tell her we can when we cant

What will she be shooting. I had good luck with my daughter shooting a 50 cal muzzle loader, with 50 grains behind a 250 gr bullet. Very little kick and deadly past her range. Supposedly this load is good out to 100 yards, but she is not yet. She took 2 deer with it last year. One at 35 yrds and one at 55 yrds.

Now, if you guys are really die hard hunters, and want a crack at deer before Oct 1st, you can break your back like I did, and get a disabled license to hunt during youth season..Although, I'm not sure that benefit outweighs the disadvantages of being disabled..lol But it sure is fun to crack jokes to your friends who have to wait till Oct. 1. :)

Hope all the kids have a successful season this year, and most importantly, everyone has fun!!

I was kinda looking for a 20ga, youth or regular, but maybe I will just set up my muzzy like you did for her? only 1 shot but hey, proly make her better if she knows she has 1 shot!

My youngest son started at 6 years old shooting a TC 45 cal. with 1 50 gr pellet. Shot 4 big bodied bucks in a row from 55-94 yards, not much for blood, but all died within 120 yards. At 10 he went up to 2 pellets for his last 2 bucks. Ear protection is important to keep from scareing them, more than the recoil.
