Tactacam Reveal X

Has anyone tried a Tactacam Reveal X yet? Great price point, but . . . . Do you know if this camera can be used in a place where you can't get cell service? It would just operate like a regular non-cell camera?

Not sure. Trying to buy a few. Tough to find them. Almost like a Harley during hey days.

I have two have the original reveals and just got in two of the x’s they’ll function like a regular camera if you don’t have service. Should be a fun year again running cameras now that I don’t have to blow out farms checking them.

I have 3 up and love them. I was very impressed with the quality of the camera and phone app. I tried cellular a few years ago and it was a failure, decided to try again and happy I did.

That is front the app, little fuzzy but not bad. I see an option to get a high quality pic from the app. It’s $5 for 50 HD pics. I haven’t tried getting any yet but a neat option

A detailed review of the Reveal with pics

For what its worth...I bought 3 reveals last year. For the money the pics were decent(not great) but good enough to know if it is a big or little buck (if that makes sense) but if the deer is any further than 20 yards the pics really arent that good and difficult to tell what animal it is. Night pics are decent once again for the money. I had an issue with all 3 cams and had to send all back and even sent back a replacement camera. EVERY single camera got moisture behind the lens and after that happened you were screwed and had to send in for warranty. Now the warranty was very good and sometimes I even had a new cam within 2-3 days. I also had another camera not hold a battery at all and die within 2 days of installing brand new batteries warrantied that as well.
I heard the Reveal X did not change much on the water issue and really your only getting wifi capabilites(IMO who cares) and the ability to receive HD pics...

So I guess the question is would I buy this camera again....to be honest No. I wish I wouldve just bought 2 spartans instead. But I will continue to run the Reveals until the completely give out and are out of warranty and continue to upgrade to Spartans which are a far superior camera

Interesting. Havent dug a ton but these are the most negative issues I've read on them. I bought 2 when they were 99 a piece and have had 0 issues. 99 bucks for a cell cam seemed like a no brainer. Obviously pics aren't spartan or reconnyx quality but they do what I need them to.
Does spartan have more than 1 cam they offer or any at a price point lower than the 250 range? Only time I've ever inquired about them was through the local cellular dealership and they were around 300

you will be hard put to find them priced lower than 250. I just paid 265 for one a few days ago from a local dealer which is far cheaper than most box stores. But you do truly get what you pay for.

I did not mean to post my comments as a negative. I was just simply giving my experience with them. For a $100 camera they are pretty good, but I dont care if im paying $50 or $500, getting moisture behind the lens should never happen. Its literally built to go into the outdoors.

I agree completely on the moisture issue. I havent had an issue with it and hadn't heard of it. Hopefully i just got lucky

Any more experience with these cams? I like the price point, but like others have said, if they aren't dependable then it isn't worth it. I have a Spartan and like it, but they are definitely proud of them and the US Cell version is even more expensive. Thought I would try some others.

My reveal x’s ran fine last fall. They are still out now. I should activate my plan and see if they are still running as they are on the Tactacam solar panels.

I did have issues with one but the CS is amazing and they replaced it immediately without a hassle

I have the first and second gen reveals. Never had a problem with moisture.
Cams ran great WO any issues.
As was stated past 20 yards quality of pic suffers. Not that sharp.
Great camera for the $.
I have two reveal X's in box unopened.
