I had the same problem. I bought a good quality boot, Lacrosse with I think 1500 grams insulation. Then I put on a pair of Woolrich wool socks. I put a toasty toe on each sock and then cover with an old pair of ragwool socks. My socks are loose and so are my boots. This combination has never let...
Those who can
I grew up in Arkansas when it was legal to use dogs to hunt deer. Those days are gone. However in that environment I learned how to shoot at running deer. What it meant to wait til they smoothed out. How to line up on the nose, keep the flow going, get out in front and squeeze...
Those who move markers for fun
Yeah I've met folks like you before. By the way if you get caught in Iowa you're harassing and impeding a hunter and you can go to jail as well as have your hunting privileges suspended. It's so easy to write down a tag number (vehicle) and trail cams up high are...
Same here. Mine are clip on. I take em out before shotgun season. I have no problem with cleaning up the timber when the season is over. However mine were put up this season and stolen this season as well.
This is my rant. I set up trail markers on public land. The primary reason is so that I can get to and from my areas in the dark. I get way off the beaten path. So someone removed them! They were the clip on type. Now I don't mind someone hunting an area I've scouted because it's public...
My habit was to always grow a beard in winter. Then I got married. I grew my beard. Spring came and I was going to shave it off. My wife protested and said with a face like mine the more I cover up the better I look. She hunts and we've been together for 35 years. :way:
On another thread there was a discussion about the best after care material to use after defecating in the woods. Muddy gave what I thought was great advice, Baby Wipes! So I put a small pack in my fanny pack. They worked great. Anyway I left them in my fanny pack in the truck like I always do...
Yes. He helped a lot and explained everything and then made sure I shot it and observed the arrow flight. It's nice to have a true expert handy. I also smoke a pipe and picked up some tobacco. So I get the best of two worlds in the same shop.:D
update
I took some good advice and went to a pro shop in Sioux City. My rest was off center. (Previously moved the rest to get the broadheads to match filed points.) Turns out that my nock point was 1/8 inch high. My arrows were also underspined due to the length being 29 1/2. So now I have...
Your local hardware store should have a rubber patch kit for garden hoses. Make sure the kit has a patch big enough for the tear. Some only have small patches. My hardware guy showed them to me and he's used them. You mix the goop, spread it on your patch and boot. Wait til its tacky and press...
