I think the craziest thing about archery gear is the depreciation of the high end bows. In 3 years that $1200 bow will be worth $600. That same $1200 gun will still be pretty close to $1000 if not higher. Give it 10 years that gun will still be holding pretty close...but the bow will be...
Some people might scoff at this but I finally bought into the 'extinguisher' call this year.
I'm definitely not pushing this thing.....but this scenario has played out for me 8 times already this year. Most of the time it has been smaller bucks that I just wanted to see if I could pull them...
I have looked over and over again....and I can't see old. I think 3.5 most likely. I don't see any gray in the face or a roman nose. The brisket also doesnt look to be sagging which usually shows me when a buck is old. This buck looks lean and muscular.
Based on your situation....pass pass pass....but you already know that.

Makes me wonder if a taxidermist could replicate that after you shoot him. That would be a pretty sweet mount....with the velvet hanging like that. Not one you see everyday.

To somewhat deter poaching I would think they could simply say in the bill that any handgun caliber currently allowed for deer hunting may not be carried while bow hunting.
