My son killed this buck Sunday morning while sitting in my favorite stand. 18" wide outside spread 8 point. Not by any meens a monster, but I was sure proud of him. Now it's time for the Ol' man to lay the smack down on one. First time loading a pic on here so bear with me.
I'll be hunting a flooded standing corn field and right acroos the road is a flooded CRP patch. I've never seen so many blue wings in all my life. Also close to 80 to 90 big ducks, Mallards and Pintails. Taking a couple of buddies and one of their 12 year old son with us. Should be a great time...
My nephew and will be there early Sat. morning to try and beat the heat. I have not been to this shoot in quite some time and really look forward to it.
Re: Bird Dog advise
Everyone here is right, keep it short. Also you can't praise your dog enough when he or she does good and always end the session on a positive note. They are so eager to learn at this stage they will be waiting at the kennel door for that day's training.
I got the wolf jaws bowholder, the padded backpack straps, placed an order for the Alpha hang on stand, climbing sticks, and can't decide on which coat to go with. Momma cut me off on any more stuff for now. Might have to slip something under the radar.
The people at Gray Wolf Woolens are a class act. I placed an order last week and it arrived in just a couple of days. Just got off the phone with them again and like last time, they were very helpful and knowledgeable about the Lone Wolf stands. They will getting more business from me.
I never...
I called them and without my sales receipt it will cost $21.50 to get my Monarchs up to snuff. Not a bad deal at all. They will also get more business from me.
Thanks for the help!!!
I will definitely check these stands out. Any info on the climbing sticks. The ground I'll be hunting will be public and I can't use any screw in steps.
Thanks for steering me in the right direction!!!
I'm looking for some help and insights on purchasing a decent portable stand that I could back pack quite a long ways into the timber. I quess light weight and stability would be the two big factors. Any input on some decent brands would be very helpful. Also looking into the climbing sticks...
Who ever brought to attention about having a double throw disconnect switch to prevent backfeeding the transformer to us linemen, THANK YOU!!!
Off to bed for a little rest and then back at it.
Everyone stay safe!!!
