    Vehicle GPS recommendations

It impressed the heck out of me when it told me where I was on Makoop lake 800 miles north of here last week! Did a better job of telling me where I was, and where the lodge was, than my handheld Garmin! Anyone want to buy a Garmin Etrex 20 cheap??? Serious!

Would it be crazy to plant brassicas this weekend

Sometimes they just choose not to eat turnips.Deer at my home place have ignored them for 4 years in a row now. Graze a very little (mostly on the radish) but 90%+ just compost in the field. One more year and I'm gonna quit offering them... They have plenty other stuff to eat anyway.

    Rye mix question

Should be similar to the forage peas recommended in Dbltrees rotation. They won't set pods that late but are attractive green grazing. Ya got the seed, go for it! Good luck!

I've got a little Garmin that seems to work well. Only one I've ever used so nothing to compare it with though.

    Apple/Pear Trees

My neighbor has a friend that is in Forestry that claims the Japanese beetle damage looks horrible but really doesn't do the trees much harm in the long run. A little hard to believe, but I've pretty much ignored them and can't say that he' wrong either...

    Electric fencer grounding

Shallow will work okay as long as it stays wet. Had a ground rod of re-bar that got dry a few years back which allowed weasels access to a flight pen. Cost me about 35 young pheasants!!! :(

    Sunlight

You can have a UV protective coating applied to the windows that will prevent much of the problem. We did that in our living room a number of years ago to protect leather furniture. Mounts are in another room on lower level where blinds are always drawn.

Missouri Expands CWD Zone Feeding/Mineral Ban....

To the best of my knowledge, horses don't get CWD, so that "crossbred" might be the key to a resistant strain...

Missouri Expands CWD Zone Feeding/Mineral Ban....

Seriously, has anyone ever listed any scientific proof that feeding deer or mineral stations increases the spread of CWD??? Are all the MO cow/calf ranchers gonna have to stop putting out mineral stations for their cows? Whatta crock of "bovine excrement"!

    Horsetail

"Mother Nature" can (and will) do some strange things... again! Hard to explain, other than just another congenital abnormality??? Is there a nuclear reactor closeby? I've got a resident doe with only one ear & about a 3" tail but suspect that's likely frostbite related.

    Heavy Rain

Pretty spotty though. Ten miles south of there we got 3.5”. Still very welcome, but I believe further south got even less.

    Strange marking?

Must be part fallow deer... Nature does some strange things now and then.

    Switchgrass

In my experience, Canada thistle is not controlled well with 2,4-d. Looks dead but regrow from roots almost immediately. Have had better luck with Milestone but even that’s far short of a sure thing! I would spray with that and then hit it early next spring withGly. Once you have it in grass, I...
