Dont get discouraged, its been happening to all of us. 4 of my 6 shooters ive been getting consistent pics of up untill october 15th have vanished. I do have full confidence that they are still around, the lull is a real damper on movement.
Sweet november for me. All the way through thanksgiving could produce a giant roaming so the best bet is to get as much stand time as you can. My two bow bucks the last 3 years: 1 was harvested at 11 am on november 17th and the other was harvested at 10:30 on november 10th
Its my belief that we will start getting good pics once we get the corn combined out. Its pretty amazing how many big bucks hang out in big corn fields until it is picked. Easy food, bedding, and arent disturbed at all.
It just is frustrating because i have 6 cameras on the 500 acre property and he sparingly shows up about once every other week. Im hoping hes just hanging low and not moving much, with lots of crops surrounding. I keep dreaming of him bouncing out of the timber chasing a doe on november 1st!!!!! Lol
Hey guys, here is a giant 5x5 that finally showed himself on camera after a few velvet pictures this summer. He's going to be tough to hunt due to him for some reason being camera shy. A good challenge that I will gladly accept! Any guesses on score?
Been having the same thing happen to me. Struggling very hard to tag my first bird. I got my cousin from MO a bird on the last day of 1st season. Been out 6 times since...I setup around quit a few birds but once they fly down, commitment has been near impossible. Trying everything decoy wise...
Hey guys been in the middle of some good hunts the past couple weeks taking friends and family out. I was just wanting to get a mid season gobbler report on movement, behaivor, responsiveness, etc? Have had a few toms be pretty decoy shy to my jake and hen setup...what's ur guys luck been...
Well I FINALLY got the big 8 on the ground. Harvested him on our first drive of the second day. It was near the end of the drive and he knew what was going on. He was sneaking around trying to find a way out and I dumped him at 70 yards. It was me and the landowner's number 1 hitlister for two...
I harvested my buck last saturday at 930 when it was 70 degrees. he was cruising between doe bedding areas. With this cold there should be alot more mid day movement.
Well I said last year on November 17th that there wasn't a happier 21 year old in the world on killing my first archery buck...today there isn't a happier 22 year old. Had a few dinks and doeswork through at first light. Not much was happening as it was very warm out. At about 930 I was...
It was warm here in se Iowa this morning...actually saw quite a few bucks cruising....arrowed one at 930 cruising through the timber! Pics and story to come.
I'd agree with a week away. Was covered up in does all evening and at around 530 had a 130 ten make a scrape and come by me at 30. He gets a pass this year. 10 min later a bigger ten worked the same scrape. Hung out at 45 yards and never gave me a shot. Went to check out the does, not to...
