    Cereal Grains and cover crops

dbltree Couple questions. What would the seeding rate for AWP, Rye, Oats and Red Clover be per acre? Also, I am hoping to plant Buckwheat late June, prior to APW/Rye/Oat/Clover planting in early September. Is two months of BW enough time to help with weeds and soil? Thanks

Oh Man Oh Man...strike two...Osenbaugh's is right by our farm. Planting CIR is on the list, but not at the top. With the $4:50 price it quickly went to the top. Now back to soil adjustments for planting fields and getting a different area ready for a CIR planting next winter. If anyone hears...

    Unemployed?

April 22, 2008 after almost 21 years and 8 days after “ your doing a great job, here’s a raise” I get the sorry we don’t need you anymore, over the phone. Now I don’t want to change this thread, but for any unemployed person out there, here’s my two cents… First the support of family and...

IowaQDM Possible, but unlikely....sell one house to build another...but I could have a second home in another state. The Iowa home would be the primary house, with all taxes, DL, etc show this. In my possible situation, I really wouldn't care about 30 or 180 days, as it could mean missing one...

    HSB 764 Discussion

Iowaqdm You seem to have a good grasp on this possible change. I'm hoping you could explain if there is any exception for a new resident to Iowa that travels outside of Iowa state lines within that 30/180 day period. I believe that the law states "physically reside for xx continuous days"... 30...

    HSB 764 Discussion

As some know I am currently a NR landowner. I understood the rules and lack of rights to hunt my land ever year with an either sex tag. Please understand I am not questioning this. Our family plan has been that once my wife completes nursing school, we would seriously look at building our home...

Thanks for the responses….just having that words “physically reside” was my concern… Dbltree Good point, will the time from 30 -180 days really make a difference. I have read Mark Drury is from St Louis area and claims resident status in Iowa to hunt his farm. I’m sure he is doing it by the...

Posted this is a different form with no response... Sorry everyone, just did some reading and I have questions. Over the last couple of years I have had three different conversations with the Iowa DNR on this subject, with three different answers. Here’s the main question, whether 30 days or...

    Pheasant Forever Organization

In another thread there was discussion on Pheasant Forever and being a great place for free seed. I’m seriously thinking of becoming a member of the Southern Prairie chapter. The free seed is a great idea, but I’m hoping to get some insight on the purpose of the organization. I guess I need to...

    Buckwheat Seed Purchase

FarmlandQDM/Dbltree I have heard that Pheasant Forever was a great place to get free seed. I contacted the Southern Prairie chapter last year, and I really needed to join. I will admit, something just doesn’t feel right though.. I don’t want to join an organization just to get stuff free….

    JD Planter

Good Info Dbltree... The Ford only has one set of hydraulic fittings...the older ford 4 row didn't have row marks...I think I read, maybe even from you, of using a rod mounted on the frontend with chains hanging down as markers...just something to think about....
