    Broadhead discussion

So I bought a pack of these for the late season. I specifically hung a stand on some mowed corn to hopefully get some deer in tight. These are the G5 Mega-meats. I know the blades will bend but that's fine. I do believe the feral is pretty strong and should help penetrate a little bit of bone...

    Switchgrass

I have been on this farms hundreds of times and walked through this particular area many times. I can tell you that what Rob built here is special. I was on this farm the first month or so that he purchased it and there was very little "deer" habitat. This combo of switch and hedge is truly a...

    Your preference for switchgrass seed’

So i personally did a lot of research on this subject. Real World: It is a VNS(Variety Not Stated) Switchgrass. This bothered me as I did not know if it was a lowland switch or upland switch. Was its max height 5' or 8'. There is no way of actually knowing. So I contacted the company. They...

    Broadhead discussion

As some of you saw on my harvest post I lost a deer this year and also had a crazy long track job on what appeared to a great shot. I will go over what head I was using and my past two seasons of experience with it and then I will say what I am shooting now. I think all should chime in and...

    11/21/23

I did go back to the spine after the hunt. Turns out it had a rear leg attached to it and it was from a very young, small deer. I will make another post about broadheads in the equipment section.

So when I gutted him we inspected it closely...my arrow entered through near side lung missed the heart and did not hit rear lung. It my arrow would've made a half turn it would've cut the top of the heart off...literally missed a 40 yard track job by centimeters. Also the fact that the shot was...

Well this season for me has been quite the wild ride. I spent more time in a tree this fall than the past few years. I hunted hard and just didnt see much. My cams were not exactly showing much for mature deer either. On Nov 8th I shot the most mature deer that I was hunting. Pretty awesome...

    Ozonics

I never hunt without it. I killed my target buck back in 2019 after he came from a completely wrong direction. Walked right through my scent stream, stopped in his tracks, took two steps backwards, then decided it was ok to walk into the plot. It DOES work. BUT it is not an invisibility cloak...

    Hawk blinds

But Rednecks are definitely not air tight....look below your corner windows, there are holes drilled through ...not possible for them to be air tight

Convert Sloped Cattle Pasture to Habitat

Have you asked the south neighbors if you can access through them? It looks like a cattle pasture, which in my experience ranchers dont really care if you walk through them to get to you. Im just saying it would be worth a question. The other thing you could do, which would be alot of work, if...

    Hawk blinds

My blind that fell over has zero wind protection. Its up on a ridge and it went flying. The winds were said to be 90-100 mph that day....not a cool feeling at all

Convert Sloped Cattle Pasture to Habitat

I know this isn't what your question was but ill give my opinion anyways...I would not put that into bedding. That would be my main late season grain plot. with the falls predominately North winds it would be ideal to have a blind on the south fence line. Then I would take the westerly red...

    Hawk blinds

IowaBowHunter1983 sells Titan in central IA. These are a one piece design. After having a Redneck fall over and explode into a million pieces. The one piece rotomolded design is by far the best route to go.

    Plot salvage

300# is far too much. A waste of money and seed..... Jeff is a clown that is all about selling product. Spreading rye at 50-150# is plenty and will be plenty sufficient for any food plotters needs.

    Fall harvest

My guys will start cutting beans this week. Also High moisture corn is coming out. We are about 7-10 days away from full blown harvest. The earlier the better as far as I'm concerned
