    What broadheads you use?

Exactly this, but maybe a few years more.

    What's this?

    Yup, flies.

    .40 cal bullets

.44 for the firearm. Projectile can be smaller. That is not the rule for some neighboring states but it is for Iowa.

    Helping deer over winter.....

Still completely covered with snow here. East Central IA a few minutes ago. Getting better, but still tough conditions for the critters.

    Giant Chinese silver grass??

Most things, but I am a huge fan of the ring-necked pheasant. This grass might be one too.

    HR 127

Wow! I didn't read it all. What I did is absurd. “(B) ACCESS.—The Attorney General shall make the contents of the database accessible to all members of the public, all Federal, State, and local law enforcement authorities, all branches of the United States Armed Forces, and all State and local...

I believe it is high gross score.

    HF 22 Black bear hunting

Yep, you are mistaken, and nope, not illegal. Like mountain lions, they are not listed as a game animal in Iowa with no specified season, which means they are fair game, 24/7. Again, this is my tag on the regs and I am only speculating that is what this bill is about. Once listed as a game...

    HF 22 Black bear hunting

My guess would be so they can assign it a season, most likely continuous closed.

    Coyote problem

Huh? One less coyote = one less coyote. Even if one moves in from elsewhere, elsewhere has one less so the total is one less, Shoot them all!

    Bowmar at it again....

Agree, with permit to carry, but otherwise IA expects guns in vehicles to be unloaded and cased, hunting or not. I was thinking car lights. It is a law with a lot of gray that gets enforced. Slow down or turn around and you’ll draw suspicions to yourself.

    Bowmar at it again....

Bows have never been required to be cased in Iowa, at least, not that I am aware of. My guess is that the violation had to do with artificial light while having in possession a gun or bow, cased, or not.

    Red cedars

I have found that those little trees have a higher survival rate, plus a year or two from now, you won't be able to tell a side by side difference of the smaller vs. the larger saplings. Easier to plant too. I have been happy with Missouri's trees too but when I checked a couple of weeks ago...

    Pin Oaks

Lot of bottomland for sure. I’m only cutting down the Pin Oaks to release White, Bur, and Swamp. Plan is to plant Swamp Whites and persimmon in bottomland sites. White, Bur, Post, and Chinkapin on upland sites. Great plan, and jealous! I agree, black oaks need to go. Pin oaks are OK, fast...

Late season hunting & movement updates...

Conditions for the critters in central eastern IA are absolute horrific. Ice, lots of it, on top of snow, lots of that too. The feeding conditions has to be difficult. Getting around has to be difficult. I had a decent hunt on the 31st seeing and passing several deer but that was before the...

    Smokless ml build? /suggestions.

Nice gun! Love the stock. You did ruin it with a bolt on the wrong side though.

    Smokless ml build? /suggestions.

Did he kill the deer? Just how could you tell it was a muzzleloader? I think we should ban all guns because they commit crimes.
