    Apple/Pear Trees

I've been spraying trees for a couple years now with ortho fruit tree spray. Is that okay? You can't spray too often, I'm guessing because of the toxic nature of the spray that nontyp mentioned.

    Apple/Pear Trees

That's kind of what I was thinking, these trees are specifically for deer, we won't be consuming any of these apples. Did the disease affect the first couple of years growth on your trees? In the future, I'll purchase more resistant trees, but with these I think I'll just let nature take its...

    Apple/Pear Trees

We planted 4 semi-dwarf apple trees from Adams County back in March (a couple goldrush and I can't remember the names of the other two). The trees seem to be growing well enough. One concern I have though is the leaves have some yellow spots on them. The new growth leaves do not, just the leaves...

    planting corn plots??

Another thing to keep in mind, here in Kansas, a small plot of corn would get destroyed by coons. Not sure if that's an issue for you. I'll be planting beans and milo!

    Pellet Lime vs. Ag lime

If it's more cost effective for me to go with pellet lime over ag lime, are there any other drawbacks? I only have 1.5 acres to lime and 40# bags of pellet lime at $3.50/bag is more cost effective than having ag lime spread. I need just under two tons per acre of ag lime of which 50-60% of it is...

Food Plotters: I need some advice

You could disk around it real well and burn on a calmer day. Still kind of risky though...

    Lighted Nock users.....

I've been a staunch tracer defender for a while now; not any more! Two shots this year at deer and neither nock lighted. If I use a lighted nock next year, I'll bite the bullet and buy firenocks.

    Best Stand packing pack?

For years now I've used cheap packs and simply placed them on the back of my LW alpha. After seeing hardcorehunter's setup, I'm considering getting a pack before next season that has the option of strapping the stand onto the pack (reasoning is for comfort -- sharing the load on the hips rather...

    My wish list

Looks like you still have plenty of options. Hopefully this cold weather will get them out in daylight for you.

    Badlands 2200 vs. Badlands Superday

Skip, another good question, I'd be interested in the answer to that too.

    The Farm

Looking forward to hearing your progress. I started to do the same thing a couple of years ago. But I got lazy and didn't take as many pics as I should have. Stay the course, post those pics; you'll enjoy it more with the praise and input of the guys on this site.

    Badlands 2200 vs. Badlands Superday

Are the badlands packs washable? Are the zippers quiet? I'm thinking of taking the plunge before next year.

    '09 Gear Reviews

Tracers go to sleep on their own if you don't do it for them over an extended period of time. I check them every time I nock an arrow. I just hold mine to the magnet for five or ten seconds and they come right back on. I bought a G5 Quest, XPB 32 this year, and I think I've found my next decade...

    Is 80 Acres Enough?

If access to the property is cut off, locked gates, etc., poaching screens can work great in my opinion. You living on the property will be the best deterrant; but those idiots can be pretty bold at times, especially at night -- spotlights don't shine through cedar trees! Btw, it you get the...
