I shoot the trufire buckle release and love it. Really easy to adjust and you can set the trigger very easily to fit what you like.

    This Weekend

Alright guys, the weekend is upon us and it doesn't seem like the weather is going to be in our favor. Both days look like 80's with lows in the 60's. We plan on going out for sure in the evening, but I am wondering what every one is doing with the warm weather. Just curious. Hopefully it starts...

Iowa ranks #2 in car deer crashes

It's too badd that this news story and shady stats are going to be used as ammo the next time the deer quotas come up. I have hit deer and I'm not crying about it, hell one year it was the only deer i got!

    Morning or evening

I agree for the first weeks we are leaving the morning stands alone. Have had a few work in in the mornings but we don't like to bump the deer this early on. Don't want to educate em too much, they outsmart us without helping them out! :)

    Taking Down Cams

Most of our cams are in food and travel areas that are on the way to our stands so the pressure of checking wouldn't be an issue. Probably will move a few to some rubs on the way out mid day this Saturday. I agree can't get pics if they are at home!

    Taking Down Cams

Hey I was wondering how many of you guys take down your cams before the season starts. Ours are still up and probably will be throughout the seasons but just wanted to hear what others do. I have heard guys taking them down because they don't want to disrupt the deer etc. I figured if they...

    Bows

I'm shooting a PSE Brute, middle of the road bow nothing special. It fits me really well and so far shoots awesome. Of the middle priced bows it just felt the best.

    IllumAnight Tracking Aid?

Good call 180, and if it does rob any energy will the result be less penetration on the deer?

MATURE Buck Movement Oct 1 - Dec 1 - YOUR Experience?

Best luck I had last year with old bucks was later October. Had a huge 10 come to a scrape, but he wouldn't show his face until it was almost dark and you could just make him out. I agree that the rut was weird and all we could get to us were young guys, the big boys you would see run by at a...

    Where to go.?.?

This is my second year in the bow world myself and the best thing I could say is learn a lot from all the guys on here and practice. Being comfortable and confident with shooting your bow is huge. Play the wind, be patient, and learn something new every day in the woods. It's definitely the...

    Venison Chilli

Good call Fishbonker, I like to use tomato juice and then ad the tomato paste to thicken it up, it does give a a really smooth texture.

    Question/need ideas

Getting a few paths through it I believe will work and they will use it. Once the crops are out and it gets cold they may move into it more as well. I know I have walked past many a deer while pheasant hunting in tall stuff and they don't even move until you are past them.

    TidBit

I agree, just talked to a family friend that is selling 150 acres of land in north central ia and was just offer over $9000/acre for it! Even crazier is they turned it down to put on auction to see if they get more. Unbelievable. There are some good prices for rec ground if you look hard, but if...

    Buying Traps

Still trap with my dad too when I can. Great to see it get passed on. Definitely go buy from another trapper or something along that lines. Was out at some stores a while back and the prices for new traps is outta control.
