    Pioneer Seed

Anyone have some corn/bean varieties they’ve been liking from Pioneer? Local dealer can get me a decent deal.

    Goals

I appreciate all the great discussion here everyone. I’m leaning towards pass since I’ve held out this long. I don’t think I would personally give the deer what he deserves if I was always thinking “what if” after I killed him. More context if folks are interested: * 120-ish acres * moderate...

    Goals

Hey folks, Hoping to gather some thoughts from others in the community. I have a deer this year that is almost certainly 4.5 years old (3rd year of trail camera photos). My goal for age has been 5.5+ for quite some time now. However, this deer probably scores around 175-180. Potentially my...

Social media comments on deer, etc…

Two years ago I set all of my buck posts to private, and haven’t posted any new ones since. It has been so refreshing. I feel like there was a small part of me that was hunting for the wrong reason, and that weight has been lifted.

    How much fertilizer?

My soil test did not come with recommendations for fertilizer amounts. Is there a good way to calculate how much ag lime I would need on some of these plots? What about P&K and micros?

    Brassicas

Have some really good rain chances next week. Was thinking about getting my radishes and turnips in the ground. Worried it may be too early though. I’m roughy 92-93 days before the average frost. Any thoughts?

Convert Sloped Cattle Pasture to Habitat

Yeah. They have some kids that occasionally hunt. Working on getting access from the SW corner from the west side though. The main issue with going around east side is that there is a good chunk of timber just on other side as well.

Convert Sloped Cattle Pasture to Habitat

I’m definitely open to other options for layout! I can’t quite figure out the best option given my access limitations. The clover plots aren’t really gonna get hunted much, if at all. Just got them out of fescue. I would love to do what you’re saying, I’m just not sure how I would hunt the...

Convert Sloped Cattle Pasture to Habitat

Thank you for this! I’ll try to get things killed off here in the next few weeks. As to what exactly I want here, I’m kinda struggling with that. Here’s my farm. Red areas are main feeding areas. Green are small clover plots. Timber next to eastern feeding area is incredibly thick...

Convert Sloped Cattle Pasture to Habitat

I know there’s probably several threads about this, but just had a few questions. I have roughly 10 acres here that was old cattle pasture. It’s primarily fescue cattle pasture. I want to convert it into some prime deer habitat. Had a few questions: * Would you go with seeding native...
