I would also like to address the "something for nothing" mindset. Landowner tags are not free, the first two are a buck a piece. Then, the next two antlerless only are $11 each, which is the same price that anyone can buy them after they have purchased their first $27 tag. I usually buy 5-15 tags, so when the landowner and "normal" tags are averaged togethor, I do get a "discount", but it isn't cheap, especially when one considers the crop loss I face. Don't take me wrong, I don't think that as a landowner experiencing crop damage I should have free unlimited tags. But in my situation, I don't think I'm receiving "special treatment" when I get my discounted landowner tags.

One thing I have never figured out...is why we don't have to pay $11 for the anydeer tag...and $2 for ALL the antlerless tags??
Seems silly to charge for antlerless when we are being encouraged...if not begged to reduce the herd.
Not a big deal I know, but seems like it sends the wrong message.
I think the thoughts on acreage being 10 acres would be mre likely. The rules say you have to be "activly engaged in the act of farming"...not just be a landowner...so 2 acres (despite what it might say) isn't going to get it, if they want to come after you
If you have a commercial orchard or truck garden on 2 acres...maybe
