Picture a deer taking a step forward and extendeing the leg. I suppose it is possible for the deer to be missing a leg but just do not see it in this picture. The "bone"extending downward looks to me like a front leg from the carpus down
I don't think the photo is clear enough to show the hoof or bone stump so we might not ever know but unless it is using that leg, it has too much muscle tone there to be 3-legged. I still agree with Shredder's first post.
I got my latest edition of "Buckmasters" a couple days ago. They have two pictures of this deer in there. And it DOES only have 3 legs. It looks like a pretty healhty doe otherwhise.
