East, Northeast, central, southeast, southern, southwest etc etc. My suggestion, look into a piece of ground like the public areas you were asking about last week or knock on a few doors to try and gain access. There are great deer in every county but there is not a boone and crocket around every tree like some think. Even a great chunk of ground in the best county may hold a 150-160 tops. My suggestion if you are looking for a chance at a booner, find one, gain access, and move in for the hunt.

I've been hunting in the East, and have yet to see a buck over 100".... They must have migrated to West-Central Iowa!

The biggest deer i have killed to date is barely over 100" and that is the biggest I have seen

. The east part of the state just seems to get pounded with to many people hunting, I wouldn't go there. However, a buddy took me to his farm in Central IA, now that is the place to be, Booners running rampid through those parts.

First one that came to mind was Alamankee, any out E are great, I think it really depends on what ground you are hunting, heck some ground in NW IA can produce monsters if you manage it right.

Lot of dinks in the eastern part! Also alot of banjo music and yells of " SQUEEL LIKE A PIG BOY!!!! "very annoying while hunting!

Isnt this the truth thanks to the Mason brother and clan. i would say all areas are just as good as any other is managed appropriate. Just finding that spot in the state is going to be the fun part. Where you are moving to is a great place for some monsters. When you move to Iowa let me know i will tell you the taxi that i went to when i lived over there in the area. He had some Giants.

Shackdaddy, in addition to this post, I see that you put out 6 different posts asking if there is good hunting in certain public hunting areas. You've gotta know that few people are gonna give you wholesale information on good hunting areas. In Iowa, you are almost always in an area where a pretty big buck or two lives. If you are coming to Iowa, get settled in, get to know a few people, and you'll eventually find a good spot or two.
