We were just starting to get rid of the snow now we are in a blizzard warning and supposed to get up to a foot of snow. I guess I am not going to be doing any shed hunting for a while. Plus there is about a foot of mud on the ground already.

Kansas is getting some snow flurries this morning. But mostly just lots of heavy rain, hail and tornado warnings! I'm guessing that some of it is heading towards you guys in Iowa...

DejaVu.....that's the same crap we had Saturday morning. The outcome was not pretty.
 
I'm otta here! It's snowing and blowing like crazy up here by Storm Lake but I'll be damed if I'm going to sit out here on the farm petting the dog by candlelight while you guys are down there drinking beer and drooling over huge racks

Our service manager called me from omaha this morning from the hotel and asked how it was here.He wanted to stop by our warehouse in urbandale and pick up tools and then head home to minneapolis.I told him they were closing I-80 west of Stuart and I-35 noth of Ames.Told him to pick up a case of beer,a bottle of hand lotion,and see whats on Pay Per View.

they are letting us out at 11:30am. looks like I need to hury home put on the carharts, rubber boots and get some shed hunting done before the snow hits hard.
 
They cancelled classes here at ISU after 1:00 pm... but it hasnt even froze and is raining, so where exactly is the bad weather at now?
 
Well it really sucks in SW Iowa right now, got about 5 inches and it is still a coming down hard. Now the wind is startin to kick up. The Storm is now about Stuart and headed east.
 
travel is impossible in FTdodge, i tried, and im a daredevil when it comes to driving, i guess we will have to get down there on friday night......
cant wait!!!
 
We got 13" of heavy blowing snow here in Western Omaha as of 3:30 pm. Is the Classic still on for tommorrow? All of the main roads and highways are closed around these parts. Very bad to be out.
 
We have around a foot here with winds blowing around 45-50 at times. I guess that state is now a disaster area. Lets hope this weather doesn't delay me from going to the classic on Saturday.

Well last night they said it was going to hit around these parts at about midnight.So at 2pm I got up to bottle feed my new baby daughter and looked outside and it hadnt done a darn thing. So at 4:30 am I got up to feed again and it still hadnt done anything. Darn weathermen!! I checked the local news on the web and they hadnt updated anything from the night before.
I waited till the news came on at 5 am and they said it was just hitting west omaha. I thought"great gonna love this drive." I live about 40 miles east of omaha which is where i work. I thought I could beat the storm and the rush of traffic if i left early. Needless to say I got beat by the storm. Five miles outta Oakland at 5:30 am Ice pellets started beaten down. Luckily traffic wasnt bad that early so I was able to get to work for the conditions realitivly easy.

I get to work "which is a welding supply store" and start helping plow and snow blow the parking lot. What for I dont know because by 11 am we had only 1 customer brave enough to brave the weather. The boss man decided to shutdown at noon due to the weather, lack of busines and OUR WELLBEING. So for the fun part"Getting Home". The interstate was shut down. All bridges were aparently closed on the Iowa/neb. border. What was i to do? Go to my buddies place, shoot some stick. Naaaaa... Lets try and get back to Iowa and get home to the family. So I opted to take L st which is highway 92 to the river bridge hoping it would be open which it was, thank god. It was a slow and blinding drive home but I made it. I'm still trying to get blood back into my white knuckles.

That is what we woke up to this morning. Our 4x4 tractor got stuck in it. National Gaurd is out helping stranded people. I sure hope this wind ends soon. That drift is 5 foot deep.

We don't have much snow over here but what little we do have, is making the roads mighty slick with that wind blowing!

Thought i was tough enough but the ol' Jeep just couldnt quite handle it. Went to my grandpas to take in the mail while they are enjoying the nice Alabama weather. Thought i could take on the five foot drift. Accelerated nice got going hit the drift and stopped on a dime. Forgot to realize that it had been raining and the drift was rock solid."You dumb a$$" said the ol' man. Took over an hour to dig myself out. And ofcourse the worst of it happend right as i got stuck.
