The hay needs mowed and I decided to go around the fields to check for fallen limbs, etc. that might knock a tooth out of the moco. I happened across this little guy. I imagine he's been hanging less than a week, as the doe that got hit on the road 2 weeks ago is almost completely decomposed. He picked the WORST place to try to clear this fence, as he took off from a wash out on the other side.
I did see a doe near the pond, shorthly before flushing a fawn in the hay field. Hopefully mom will lead the little one away before the field is mowed, but the way he scooted out of there, I don't think he would sit tight when the mower approached.
