The hay needs mowed and I decided to go around the fields to check for fallen limbs, etc. that might knock a tooth out of the moco. I happened across this little guy. I imagine he's been hanging less than a week, as the doe that got hit on the road 2 weeks ago is almost completely decomposed. He picked the WORST place to try to clear this fence, as he took off from a wash out on the other side.

I did see a doe near the pond, shorthly before flushing a fawn in the hay field. Hopefully mom will lead the little one away before the field is mowed, but the way he scooted out of there, I don't think he would sit tight when the mower approached.

Looks like you'll be holding your nose while you putting up hay at that end of the field!

Wonder if you could put a cattle panel across that area, raised up, so they wouldn't cross there?

They get hung up all along this section of fence. This is the third one in about six years, all young deer, never in the same place. I think they just miss-judge how tall it is. I thought maybe he was getting chased, but if so, whatever was chasing him didn't stick around for an easy meal.
