I got an email forwarded to me from the Nat'l Guard today. My dad has been in Iraq since March 2006. He was supposed to come home just in time for the 2007 turkey season. His duty is being extended until August 2007. It may not seem like much longer but he has been home a total of 3 weeks since deployment in September of 2005.
I miss my hunting buddy.
 
Sorry to hear about your dad's deployment being extended. I'm sure its tough to miss those days afield together. Please tell your dad thanks for the sacrifices he's making and let him know that he and his fellow troops are in our thoughts and prayers.
 
Your Dad, and the rest of the guys and gals over there, are my heroes! Sorry to hear that he won't be home in April.

I think a lot of families are getting discouraged and disappointed...I wish they could all come home sooner rather then later...
 
sorry to hear about that, I am still waiting to hear if my best friend and turkey hunting buddy will have to stay longer, he too is suposed to make it home just in time for season to start.
 
Tell your dad THANK YOU for what he is doing. It is because of him and others like him we can spend time in the field! He is truly a American Hero!!!
