6 does for me (my goal was 10) 3 bow & 3 shotgun
I will better that goal in 08, no doubt.
I know I'm beating a dead-horse b/c I've said it here 10 times or so...but I wish the DNR would grant us the right to have gun/bow combination doe tags, like the spring turkey tags are, instead of declaring just gun or just bow. They want the tags filled, right?

I killed 5 does this year and still have time to get my 6th. But these are Kansas does so it doesn't count towards your numbers.
In the last two seasons I have taken 9 does, 0 bucks. Six of them were with bow, 3 with the .30-06.

So DoubleA-What have you learned from your post? How is the doe numbers compared to the bucks? Do you feel the numbers are in the range of what you were looking for?

So here is what I see! In this post we had 33 people post about Shooting 4 or more does this season, or being involved in the harvest of 4 or more does! Now some may not have responded or some may have been to busy, but this is all the data I have to work with!
Keeping that in mind, if we look at the PMA graph from Oct. 1 to only Nov. 23 there was 68 different Bucks harvested! So double the number that harvested 4 does. Taking a rough count in the Public(not PMA) forum, I gave up after easily counting 100 IOWA BUCK KILLS. There are plenty more in there.
Then searching for one more piece of data I found the PMA Harvest Picture forum. In that forum alone there are 105 bucks pictured! Now taking into consideration that some may not be from IOWA We will deduct 10% of that number, leaving us with roughly 95 Iowa bucks harvested(in the PMA mind you) or roughly 3 times the number of people who harvested 4 or more does!!
I have drawn this conclusion! While all of our hunting stakes are at risk, not all(actually not many) are going the extra mile to help!
This isn't to attack anyone, but it is to make a point. We can all b^tch and complain about what the DNR does with our hunting, but do you seriously think everyone is going to go to the effort of calling/emailing and voicing opinions when they/we aren't even willing to do what the DNR has asked us to do for the last three years!
Guys these numbers are horrible. Want to know why DNR is getting pressure from FB and insurance companies? Here is your answer! Not even half of our "people" are doing anything to prevent it! If every person( i know this drastic, but think about it) who posted a buck in the Harvest picture forum would have harvested 4 does, then we would have taken well over 3 times the number of does....
Argue all you want that some did take 2 or some took 3 and blah blah blah... that is fine and that is great, but many took zero or one, what I am saying is that "we" are causing some of our headache... It starts here guys... If we all actually put forth the effort to thin some does, maybe we wouldn't be fighting the fights we are!!! ( i know we still would but at least DNR would have a leg to stand on!)
So there it is.... <span style="color: #FF0000">One man's opinion</span>, persecute me if you will, but I look at it as fact are facts!! The fact is, we are going to have laws changed, and we are a large portion of the problem!!!
