Drying morels?

Who has done it? How does it workout? How do you rehydrate them? Any info would be apprciated. Thank you.
 
I use a warm airflow dehydrator, you know the one's they sell everywhere anymore. Dry them until they feel crisp, put them in a zip lock and get as much air out as you can. Then I throw them in the freezer. Not sure if it's really necessary, but I like the thought of them in the freezer rather than in the warm cubbard.

Put them in a pan of water over night and your in business.

You'll be suprised how well it works.

I just set up an old window screen on two saw horses in the garage. Just place them so they do not touch. It takes from 3 days to a week. Then to a zip lock.. I still have a bag in the kitchen from last year.
I never have frozen dried ones, but it's probably good insurance.
When you rehydrate them, after taking them out of the water, and squeezing the excess water out. Let them set on a paper towel for an hour or so.. They "Plump" a lot nicer.
