East wind

Had a good east wind today. Dont see that too often. Anyone do any shooting? I was trying to grunt in a decent 8 from the bean field and heard a crack behind me. Big big 10 pointer 20 yards from me staring. Turned around and walked away. Heart breaker. Went to hang my bow back up and the limb i had it on snapped. Bow went for a ride. Snapped the arrow i had knocked. Not a good first night.
 
You'll bounce back! That rare east wind is always unlucky for me, for some reason. I lost my fave release while en route to my stand through seemingly a mile of standing beans...all to bust one deer and see one coyote. Not a good outing for me either, but we'll bounce back!!!
 
I've definitely made it a point to have some east wind setups these past few years. It's been crazy the east winds we've had these past couple!

Rough sit but sounds like awesome encounter! You'll get on one soon I bet!
 
I don't get many east winds, had one last night and was covered in deer. Maybe your next east sit will pay off in spades.

Holy Crap! Sounds about like an entire seasons worth of bad luck. Should have all that out of the way now...good luck the rest of the year :way:

Looks like a switch to north winds now though so I can finally hit some new spots!:way:

Man you did have some bad luck. I saw it was a east wind and took the Primo's Predator den out and set it up on some does that come out of the corn field on me, never even brushed it in at all. I set it in a depression at the end of the draw in the alphafa and had them all the way around me at 6:15 and they never winded me. One of them never went home after it walked within 6 yards. :grin: Good luck on another chance at that 10. :way:
