EHD REPORTING TO DNR - DO IT! LINK HERE….

Found one so far

So all the ehd deaths I've found have never been eaten on. Plus they decay so fast too because they are so warm at the time of death. Is that what everyone else has seen. I haven't seen a ton of them but mine never been touched by buzzards or yotes.

I’d say the one I found had not been ate on much if at all. Plenty of coyotes around too

Found 3 new 1s today. Southern Warren Co. Pond buck was a couple weeks ago...
Found just under 10 in the area to date....

This one had a bunch of white foam coming out of its mouth and nose. No apparent wounds/injuries.

It’s absolutely amazing that a tiny bug you can barely see will take down a giant animal like that !!

Yep- u off by an inch with a big broadhead or even a bullet…. They don’t die. a stupid little midge bites…. Toast!!!! Irony.
Poaching & ehd - both sad ends. Wild they can evade hunters for years and that stupid virus pops up & wipes em out We need to grow the awareness of this link. First year available. If we grow it (takes time) it clearly will better showcase the impact. As of TODAY….. my wild guess is, 1 to 5% of dead deer are being reported. Wide range but my guess. When I know guys who are like “ya dude, I found 10 on one 240 acre farm” & there’s 18 reported cases for the county…. We have a long ways to go. Which is part of the process but props to dnr for implementing this & wanting to grow its awareness + their willingness to react to the data.

Skip, thanks for posting this link. Unfortunately found a young 10 point on my little 20 acre farm tonight, dead within the last 2-3 days.
