First double crop

Following a suggestion I got from this site, I tried my first "double crop" of sowing rye into the beans in August (thanks for the tip guys!). The rye has come in pretty good. The deer are just now hitting the beans the last 2-3 weeks. Looks like they will last well into January at the current rate. Sorry about the photo quality but used my binoculars and the resolution is not camera quality.

A shot of the plot - you can see one of my corn plots in the background. This one is about 70% depleted already due to its secluded location.

After seeing ironwoods turnips in corn, I'll have to add that to my list for next year....

Excellent! Thanks for posting the pics! Most everyone who has ground in CRP is somewhat limited in the acres they can put into foodplots.

Double crops like rye or brassicas planted into beans or corn is a great way to get the maximum out of a few acres.

Cheap enough too!
