Been filling sandbags for 8-10 hours a day since Monday... Not a glorious job but it is really needed right now.

Good Luck Muddy. I'm on the other side of the state but have been keeping up on things in Eastern Iowa. Doesn't sound good but it sounds like you're doing everything you can. Hang in there.

My son spent yesterday afternoon filling sandbags in Douds...then hurried home to take cover before the tornados went thru.... /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif

If the water doesn't wash us a way...seems the wind will.

Good luck up there guys. Were getting hammered by tornados every other day down here.We are flooding as well but nothing like up there.

Good call Muddy, Got called up on Thursday for the Floods and sandbaggers are highly needed.

Little update on the Des Moines area... the military for the most part is throwing the sandbags and all the city people are filling them for us, at times we were running scary low, so for those that are getting your houses saved please go help out the cause you may save someone elses house.

Also the levee break by North High Stadium was a wash out and not caused by a lack of sandbags cause I just helped put thousands there yesterday.

Thanks for all who helped or is going to help in the Des Moines area and surrounding areas, it is really needed.

Just finished my second day in Hills. Worked side by side with some Amish boys up from Kalona. They are no stranger to a shovel (and have no dog in this fight). I have not worked that hard since I don't know when.

Even if the whole town would be lost, it was worth every scoop. It's amazing how strangers band together.

Just had THE mother of all charie horses in a hammy. Guess I shouldn't have rehydrated with barley... /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cry.gif

Haven't tasted beer that good since baling hay in high school.
