Every day I hear the sad news that more of our fighting men and women have given their lives for us...and my heart aches for thier families.....
it also swells with pride that today as they have since this countries founding moments...brave people are willing to sacrifice their lives for our freedom.
These words were added later to the song My Country Tis of Thee
to pay tribute those who gave all:
Our joyful hearts today,
Their grateful tribute pay,
Happy and free,
After our toils and fears,
After our blood and tears,
Strong with our hundred years,
O God, to Thee.

Like Bonker has stated,
As being a troop some of us have some great facilities while stationed over seas, some have to dig holes to have a place to live.
I would have to say that most of my stress that comes while deployed across the pond is what is going on at home.
The families make the ultimate sacrifice IMO. Especially the wives going from a joint helped house hold to doing it by themselves.
Thanks to all the past and present veterans for my/our freedom and making those who arent/were free, free at last!
