I have a question for those in the know, or have had this experience happen to them. My buddy went out hunting last weekend in the sleet, snow, and rain. After hunting, he stuck his gun in his case, pulled it out on Monday, and there were some pretty good rust spots on his barrel. He shoots a Benelli Super Black Eagle II. We have already tried some gun oil with rust inhibitor (Knight) and solvent (hoppe's no. 9). Even after several applications, there are still rust spots. Would steel wool be an option, or do you think that would mess with the finish? Have any of you had the same problem? Thanks for the help.
