Heavy deer density and plots

Local guy here owns about 30 acres with over 15 being a field that his house overlooks. Deer density is insanely high, and he knows they need to kill a ton of deer. In the meantime, is grazing alfalfa the most tolerant species of heavy pressure? His beans last year looked like a dirt patch, they even ate the weeds.

I would say either alfalfa or clover would be better able to withstand heavy grazing then most other types of food plots.

I have never seen a reasonable sized plot or field of either alfalfa or clover...eaten right to the ground as happens with soybeans or peas.

For a year around crop alfalfa or clover will withstand pretty heavy grazing.

Rye/Winter wheat will keep coming back as well however once mature the deer dont seem to like it as much. As when it is young and tender.
