This little bean plot has taken a whippin. Yet there are still beanpods on them all!

Started mowing down weeds(in the background) to make room to till up a chunk for some alfalfa this fall but its not going to happen. Gonna have to wait til spring. Is there something else that could be stuck in here the first week in September that would provide some food? Pea plot is in the foreground. They're coming up great.

Those soybeans look better than what I ended up with. In an acre and half I was luck to have a leaf left on the plants. Ended up tilling them under and planting brassicas.

Winter rye will work perfectly! Add some peas n oats if you like but for sure sow some clover with it and that will keep weeds down in the spring and offer some lush spring grazing. :way:
