High Fence Near Decatur City?

I was wondering if anybody knew the story of the high fence along I35 near Decatur City. Do they sell hunts off that or is that somebodies little play area. I drive by it all the time and just never knew the story about it. Thanks for any help

Not sure if this is true but I was told it is owned by a guy who has a big trucking company out east and it is his own honey hole. It's been fenced for at least ten years now... who knows what might be in there. It is big... probably a couple thousand acres.

I don't remember what the place is called but hes got a really nice set up in the cabin and what not. Also, if you ever drive around the place you can see that there are a bunch of big tall box blinds around there.

I went to the site that IB posted. If you go in click on, hunt photos, then click on more photos, click on the black and white picture in the bottom left of the photos.

Check out the G2s on that dude.

Ridiculous what people will pay...probably what we need more of in the state and industry.

Breed'em like livestock, it's all nat-chur-al.

Impressive to look at, kind of like store-bought hooters on a blonde.

I saw a hunting show with that buck that turtL is talking about. They stated they were "paying" for deer. I dont know if they said they were in a high fence or not, but they passed that buck becuase they couldnt afford it. Then they shot a deer and while their doing the harvest interview that buck walks back out and looks at them.

Hell, it would probably be cheaper to go shoot one for 8 grand, than to kill one out in the wild. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif I mean think about it, trail cams, mineral, food plots, stands, more stands, a couple more stands, fuel you burn to check the trail cam, plant the plot, get in the stands.

Just wouldn't be as satisfying /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

Ha,ha Kent. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif Hell, I'd settle for a wild $10,000 buck! /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

What a flippin joke. Highpowers?

"Most of our hunting is done from comfortable elevated stands with heaters. Flat shooting, scope sighted rifles in the .270 to .300 caliber range are recommended with a 140 grain minimum bullet weight. Each guide will have quality optics but hunters are encouraged to bring their own as well. Our blinds are safe, sturdy and easy to get in and out of. Some even hunt out of a blind given to us by our good friend, the late Dale Earnhardt, built in his race car shop. The Earnhardt blind is appropriately "Number 3" out of our twelve elevated blinds."

(Insert barfing gremlin here)

Most of those guys in those pics aren't even smiling after killing their "trophy" - even they know it's a joke but coughed up the coin anyway for whatever reason.

Reminded me of this.

How can they use highpower's to kill these deer. I guess I don't understand how they can get away with that aspect of their operation. Yeah those bucks are awesome but there was no hard work or planning done. I can't wait until the DNR opens a season on the Black Angus.

I just think it is a joke to charge people big money to come shoot a deer they probably bought. If I raised high fence deer it would be in a ten acre chunk just so I could pic up some outrageous sheds every year /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif
