I was able to make it south to hunt with some friends I rarely get to see anymore. After several beers the night before, I was able to roll out of bed this am at the early hour of 9:00 and go chase birds for a few hours (season closes daily at 1pm) After a short nap in the woods (I was still tired), I made it to a ridge that is nearly a sure thing and made a few calls. I had the bird on the ground after a quick setup and 5 minutes prior to noon.
