Iowa Trespassing laws

I guess I’ll stir the pot a little. Does the tower blind mean the neighbors can’t sit on their side of the fence right there. Maybe that’s the best spot for them with a certain wind?

Conversely, the tower blind is also on the opposing neighbors fence line and then sounds like it may be ?leased? to out of staters who took enough offense to it that they sent the property owner a picture. No hypocrisy at all, right?

Actually- the neighbor gave my buddy permission to hunt on his- so the tower blind is a moot point in the scheme of things. Was a bit more of a joke picture, but they don’t have permission to shoot onto his. If that makes any sense. Also the way the property lays- the only shooting from that spot is onto my buddies. So without context, I understand you don’t know that- but I did think the picture was comical (mainly the blanket)

Got it. Yes, blanket was a great touch

Comes down to the ambition of the conservation officer. Some don't want to stir the pot or come after friends/neighbors. As I noted earlier, you have to press some of them to get action. In your case, a desired outcome was quick and painless (for you)
They are in the wrong profession then and I would call their superior. They don't get to worry about stirring the local pot, they are public servants of the law. I guess I've got one of the good ones?

100% you have a good one.

Unfortunately, some counties only have one, other counties share, and some counties are currently unfilled and unadvertised. There really isn't a "superior" to call in those instances. Grundy/Marshall counties are both vacant.

They certainly are spread very thin across the state. It's unfortunate, I've always had great relationships with COs in the areas I hunt.

IDNR website: "The Law Enforcement Bureau has 90 conservation officers including six supervisors, six recreational safety officers, and 78 field officers."

One of those six is who I would call if my local CO refuses to help when given good intel, pictures, proof, etc.

This is a HANDY map and appears to include the 6 supervisors contact too (1 per district)
