Is shining legal in Iowa??

Since I am new to Iowa I have question. Is it legal to shine deer in Iowa with a spot light? If so are there any date or time restrictions? For example I am from Michigan and in Michigan you can't shine at all in the month of november and the rest of the year you can't shine after 11:00 pm. Thanks in advance.

Shining is legal in Iowa. Just make sure you don't have a weapon in your vehicle.

One friend was told by the CO if he found even a shell of any kind... but I'm sure he was trying to put a little "fear" into him...
