I ended things tonight with another doe down. Right after I downed her I saw a 150 class buck coming. I knew it was too good to be true. A left turn at 50 yards and he was history. Hopefully he holds the headgear through late season and makes it through to next year.
It's over and I have been stuck up in Naperville Since Monday and heading to Houston next monday, it really has been driving me crazy, I can't remember the last time I didn't go the last day of the season, even for a doe since I was ten years old
However, it will be time to start stomping for sheds soon
It seems like everyone in my area shot bucks except me this season. Now it's time to start the offseason efforts to acquire some hunting access so I can have some alternatives to the pressured state lands I have hunted the past two seasons. Eight months and counting.
I can't wait for the yotes either, my ole man got me a Sako Tikka 3 22-250 stainless black synthetic with a 4x14x42 stainless scope for my college graduation present, Looks like something is gonna be in trouble now that deer season is over
One thing you can be happy about Liv, is the weather sucked again tonight for hunting. I never saw a deer the last two times out and I saw deer every day I went up til then, pretty frustrating to say the least.

I saw 2 ginat yotes last Sunday while shed hunting. I'll admit that a younger part of me wanted to run right over them with the skidoo as they were breaking through the crust struggling to make distance between us.
